Guide to Crosschain-Bridging of StarChain (STRC) Tokens from Ethereum to Polygon Using Portal Bridge

This step-by-step guide will help you transfer your StarChain (STRC) tokens from the Ethereum network to the Polygon network using the Wormhole (Portal Bridge) and your web3 wallet (e.g., MetaMask). This guide might be used for STRC token transfer to BitMart, which only supports Polygon Mainnet transfers.

Prerequisites

1. Web3 Wallet: Ensure you have the web3 wallet (e.g., MetaMask) you used to claim your STRC tokens, with both Ethereum and Polygon networks configured.

2. Sufficient ETH & POLY for Gas Fees: Make sure your wallet has enough ETH and Polygon to cover the transaction fees on both sides.
3. STRC Tokens: Ensure the claimed STRC tokens are in your Ethereum wallet.
4. Security: Always double-check the URL (https://portalbridge.com/advanced-tools/) and token contract addresses to avoid scams.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Connect Your Wallet

• Go to the Portal Bridge at https://portalbridge.com/advanced-tools/#/transfer.
• Click «Connect Wallet» and choose your wallet (e.g., MetaMask).
• Follow the prompts to connect your wallet to the bridge.
• Make sure the Ethereum Mainnet is being used in your Web3 Wallet. 

2. Select Networks

• Under the «From» section, choose Ethereum as the source network.
• Under the «To» section, select Polygon as the destination network.

3. Choose STRC Tokens

• In the token dropdown, select STRC. If STRC doesn’t appear automatically, you may need to import the token:
  • Copy the ETH STRC contract address: «0xB37A6953F6B943B24a769Ea94eaCaD3E4C5495b5»
  • Paste it into the «Custom Token» field to add STRC manually.

4. Enter Amount

• Specify the amount of STRC tokens you wish to transfer from Ethereum to Polygon.
• Double-check the amount to ensure accuracy.
• Press “Next” and approve the metamask instructions.
• Choose “Manual Payment” and press “Next”, follow the given metamask instructions.

5. Approve and send STRC Token 

• If this is your first time using STRC on the bridge, allow the bridge to access your tokens and switch the network.
• Confirm the approval transaction in your wallet. A small gas fee in ETH will be required.
• Click “Approve” and follow and approve the metamask instructions.

6. Initiate the Transfer

• Click «Transfer» and “Confirm” to begin the bridging process.
• Review the details, including networks, token amount, and fees, then confirm.
• Approve the transfer transaction in your wallet. This will incur a gas fee on Ethereum.

7. Wait for Confirmation and redeem Tokens

• The transfer process might take a few minutes as it confirms on both Ethereum and Polygon networks, do not exit the website during this process.
• Once completed, you’ll see a confirmation message on the Portal Bridge interface.
• Afterwards press “Redeem” and confirm the Metamask pop-up.

8. Add STRC on Polygon (if necessary)

• Press “import token” or open your MetaMask wallet and switch to the Polygon network.
• If STRC doesn’t appear in your wallet, manually add it by importing the token:
  • Copy the STRC token contract address for Polygon 
  • Go to «Import Tokens» in MetaMask, paste the Polygon STRC Address «0x38820D13f4dAcf6E0b5634aE41Ab6CFb00C4CF5D», and save.

9. Verify Your STRC Tokens

• Check your wallet balance on the Polygon network to ensure the STRC tokens have arrived.
